Expert Answers about Kia Jump Starters and Jumper Cables

  • Can Alligator Clips on Jumper Cables be Replaced
  • We have a variety of jumper cables and jump starters like the MaxxTow # MT29FR and NOCO # NOC78VR respectively, but we don't have just the alligator clips. If the alligator clips on your jumper cables have sheared off then I recommend replacing them completely so you know all of the connections are properly made and sealed. If it's a different product then let me know what you're needing to replace the alligator clips on and I can see if we have any parts for you. Attached is a link to...

  • Using NOCO 329-GB40 Genius Boost Plus Jump Starter with Side Post Batteries
  • We're glad to hear that your pretty happy with your # 329-GB40 jump start pack. NOCO doesn't offer a narrower clip, but just about any auto parts store should have a couple of different styles of adapters for side post batteries. The way the positive and ground cables attach to the batteries wouldn't change, but you'd have auxiliary posts to attach the clips for the jump box or jumper cables. I've used them before on several work trucks I used to use, and they work perfectly.

  • NoCo Boost XL - 1500 Amp Jump Starter
  • Without knowing when you bought your Noco # 329-GB50XL, I can't determine your warranty status, but I can tell you that it has a one-year limited warranty. I looked at the Instructions-Details.PDF on our product page and there are not any serviceable parts or user replaceable fuse. That leaves you to determine if it is user error or product failure. I would consider the following trouble shooting steps. (1.) When you attempt to use the jumper do ANY lights show up on the jump starter?...

  • What Jump Starter do You Recommend for My Chevy Colorado and John Deere Utility Tractor?
  • For a great charger for your Chevy Colorado or your John Deere utility tractor, I recommend the NOCO Boost X Jump Starter - LED Work Light - 2 USB Ports - 12V # NOC78VR (2,500 amp). • How To Jump Start Battery Using Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger
  • The Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger part # 331-BCDC1240D is a great option for charging a trailer battery. It sounds like you are concerned with the status of the starter battery and if that is case there is no need to worry as there are built-in safeguards to prevent puling power from the start battery when it gets below a certain voltage. If for some reason the start battery does die, you can use the auxiliary battery to jump start this with the Redarc Smart Start Battery Isolator...

  • Why Does My Peak Battery Jumper Box Alternate Its Display From FL to 84?
  • Whenever I hear of a battery giving off this type of feedback flashing from FL(fully charged) to 84(percent of charge) it tells me that the battery has lost its maximum capacity. The jumper box is alternating this as it attempts to charge and the battery says its fully charged but as the charging voltage is turned off it drops to the 84 you see as it can no longer hold a full 100% charge. The charger then kicks back on thinking it can charge back to 100. You should replace it at this...

  • How Does Peak Performance Jump Starter # PKC0J7 Connect to Wall Outlet
  • The Peak Performance Jump Starter doesn't have an adapter made for it to convert it to 110 volt. It has a fold out 110 volt style connector at the rear that you'd use an extension cable to plug into an outlet for charging. But on the output side there isn't anything that would allow it to charge anything 110 volt.

  • Can the Peak Performance Jump Starter Be Used In the Rain or Snow
  • In the instructions on most jump starters like the # DU76FR, it mentions that they should not be used in the rain or snow. The biggest issue is keeping the cable connectors free from moisture, which is tough to do in adverse weather conditions, and this is a fairly common guideline. The cold won't be an issue, but there is some risk when exposed to moisture.

  • Jumper Cable Set Recommendation for F-450 and Semi Trucks
  • The Jumper Cables with Gray Quick Connect # 3375601025 with the 4-Gauge wiring would be sufficient for most vehicles but since you're needing this setup for an F-450 as well as semis you definitely need at LEAST 2-Gauge wiring and for that I recommend the Bulldog Winch Booster Cable Set w/ Power Leads # BDW20197. • Using the Bulldog Winch Booster Cable Set # BDW20197 on your 2014 Ford Explorer Sport won't be an issue most of the time but you will want to be careful. First of all, as with any type of wiring connections, you will need to keep the quick connector clean and dry at all times. Trying to jump a car with moisture or debris in the connector can cause a problem for you regardless of what vehicle it is. Using the booster cable set really isn't any different than using jumper cables except...
